Siu-Tsiu is the result of an initiative from former Naalakkersuisoq for Social Affairs, Family, Gender Equality and Justice, Sarah Olsvig, after which a co-operation agreement was signed between the Danish social economy company Grennessminde in Taastrup and Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq to develop social economy companies in Greenland.

Many young people in Greenland are outside education and employment. Siu-Tsiu will use social economy businesses to create a framework for new working communities and social inclusion, giving young people a collegial community, as well as professional and social experiences. The goal is to create new opportunities for education or employment that ultimately contribute to increased well-being, hopes and dreams for the future.
